THS 200 Thermal Conductivity Tester

The THS 200 is a newly launched thermal conductivity tester by ThermCon Scientific Instrument, which adopts the transient heat source method. It features a fast measurement speed, capable of calculating thermal conductivity within 160 seconds, and can automatically adjust reference and power levels, significantly enhancing experimental efficiency. It also offers a wide measurement range, no restriction on sample morphology, bidirectional operation system, and color touchscreen interface.

Testing Principle:
The transient planar heat source method is based on the principle of one-dimensional unsteady thermal conduction on a plane: in an infinite medium, the plane heat source generates a dynamic temperature field in the medium after receiving an instantaneous heating pulse under initial thermal equilibrium. The sample’s thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity coefficient are calculated by fitting the temperature data generated during heat transfer and fitting a functional curve. During the test, a constant direct current is applied to the heat source, increasing its surface temperature and resistance, leading to an unbalanced bridge test system and generating potential changes. From the changes in electrical parameters, the temperature rise over time is obtained.
